The Business Systems Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, controlling and evaluating IT and electronic data operations.
Lead a high functioning IT team that partners with Accounting, Customer Service, Innovation, Operations, Sales & Distribution, and other functional areas within the business.
Establish and implement robust processes to identify and capture the needs of systems users
Develop SAP solutions to meet the expressed needs and plan, resource, and execute solutions in a consistent manner
Anticipate and plan for IT capacity requirements including hardware, software, and networking to accommodate the expected growth of the business in a fiscally balanced way
Oversee the technological infrastructure in the organization to ensure optimal performance
Establish reliable security solutions for the company to ensure protection of its intellectual property, data, and other assets
Monitor changes or advancements in technology to discover ways the company may gain a competitive advantage
Lead IT strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing IT initiatives, standardizing global business applications, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future IT systems across the organization
Maintain an appropriate IT organizational structure that supports the needs of the business
Establish IT departmental goals, objectives, and standard operating procedures
Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or similar discipline is required
5+ years of experience in the management of information systems required.
Previous experience in the manufacturing industry required.
Must have deep knowledge of SAP that includes business integration and building solutions that are scalable
Proven experience in IT planning, organization, and development
Experience in business process re-engineering and standardizing business processes across entities
Experience in ERP conversions and other application deployments
Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize business needs and allocate resources by appropriately balancing internal capabilities with external consultants is essential
Beyond technical knowledge, outstanding communications skills with a collaborative, team based leadership style is required
Demonstrated success in leveraging technology to meet business objectives with a pattern of consistent delivery and continual process improvement
Forward-thinking with the ability to anticipate and communicate potential impacts of emerging technologies
Results-orientated leadership with strong negotiation, responsiveness, collaboration, and consensus building experience
Ability to manage change with excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written; the ability to grasp and communicate the big picture, while remaining conversant with details
Excellent negotiation skills with internal customers and external service providers
A current understanding of IT management disciplines and the technical tools in use and the ability to keep up with and assess new technology and provide leadership in applying it strategically to business
